Job Description

Purpose or Role of the Position Within the Organization:

This position provides administrative and operational support to the Administration Team within the College of Social Work at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The Administration Team plays a critical role in advancing the College’s mission and includes academic support, student success, communications, outreach and community engagement, human resources, the business office, operations, continuing education, and recruitment.

Responsibilities Specific to the Position:

Responsibilities will be assigned by the CSW Human Resource Specialist (HR). Responsibilities may include maintaining an inventory of College of Social Work promotional items and surplus materials; making on-campus deliveries; assisting administrative units with general operational and office support; working within Microsoft programs, and performing other duties as assigned.


Schedule:
Flexible schedule. The student can set their schedule around class times with the approval of their Supervisor: CSW HR Specialist.

Job Requirements

Qualifications Specific to the Position:
Ability to provide customer service with excellent communication skills. Ability to perform administrative tasks, such as making spreadsheets, stuffing envelopes, and monitoring inventory. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is required.

Evaluation Procedure

Evaluation Procedure:
The CSW HR Specialist will evaluate the student assistant’s performance on a regular basis to provide constructive feedback for the student worker. This will enable the student assistant to learn the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace
