Do you like making things, helping others, and being part of a team? If so, you could be the right type of person to work in the Innovation & Collaboration Studio (ICS). The ICS is primarily run and by paid student consultants who help other ICS users, whether it be other student, staff or faculty, oversee saftey in the shop, perform maintence, and keep the studio running on a day to day basis. Students who work in the ICS work in a tight-knit team that work together to make the ICS the best space that it can be for the people who use it, while themselve gaining experiences and skills that can help them in their careers down the road. Purpose or Role of the Position Within the Organization: Assist students with equipment and services provided by the Innovation and Collaboration Studio. Responsibilities Associated with the Position: Student will be trained to safely and effectively assist with • CAD Modeling • 3D Printing • Laser Cutting • CNC Embroidery, mill, lathe • Electronics Assembly • Wood Shop Equipment • Installation and Repair of Equipment • Material Checkout
Schedule: 10 hours/week average, during ICS open hours (9 a.m.-5 p.m.). Extra hours scheduled for ICS special projects and activities. Entire academic year, including summer sessions. |
