Haslam College of Business Department of Management & Entrepreneurship Federal Work-Study Position Description Position Title: Student Assistant Position Overview The Department of Management & Entrepreneurship in the Haslam College of Business is seeking a motivated and dependable Student Assistant to support daily departmental operations. This position provides valuable professional experience in a dynamic academic environment while contributing to the success of faculty, staff, students, and visitors. As a key member of the department's administrative support team, the Student Assistant will assist with office operations, provide exceptional customer service, and help ensure the department runs efficiently. This role offers opportunities to develop organizational, communication, and professional skills that are transferable to a variety of future career paths. Primary Responsibilities - Welcome visitors and assist them in connecting with appropriate department personnel
- Provide front office reception and customer service support
- Assist with document management, including scanning, printing, organizing, filing, and archiving records
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and correspondence
- Provide office coverage during staff meetings, breaks, and other scheduled absences
- Deliver materials to campus offices and departments as needed
- Support departmental events, initiatives, and special projects
- Perform other administrative and office support duties as assigned
Work Schedule - 10-20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters
- Opportunities may be available during summer sessions
- Work hours are scheduled within regular office operating hours:
- Monday-Friday
- 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
