Job Description

Purpose or Role of the Position Within the Organization:
Students will aid in the installation of theatrical lighting designs for the Clarence Brown Theatre. Students work with the supervision of the lighting shop during the hang, focus, strike, programming, and repair of theatrical lighting equipment.

Student will be subject to a background check

 


Responsibilities Associated with the Position:
Duties are not individually assigned. Projects vary day to day and show to show based on the needs of the lighting shop at that time.

Schedule:
10-20 hours per week, mostly Mon- Fri 9-5. Some evening opportunities for console programming during technical rehearsals are possible.

Job Requirements

Qualifications Specific to the Position:
• Complete Theatre 262- Introduction to Stage Lighting
• Comfortable with ladders preferred
• Ability to read a theatrical light plot
• Basic understanding of electricity

Evaluation Procedure

Evaluation Procedure:
Students and direct supervisors will have an ongoing and open communication in regards to development and understanding of theatrical electrical work.
