Location: Gallery 1010, 100 S. Gay Street, Suite 114, Knoxville, TN 37902* *Note: this location is off-campus in a gallery space downtown operated by the University of Tennessee School of Art. Art gallery interns work alongside the gallery directors to oversee exhibition openings. Hours will primarily follow the gallery’s once a week exhibition opening schedule on Thursday or Friday from 5-7pm, with the option to attend additional leadership meetings. Intern's primary responsibilities include helping to open and close the gallery space, recording number of visitors, greeting visitors and informing them about the gallery space and exhibitions, and monitoring securing of the gallery and the art. Other responsibilities include editing the gallery’s social media, webpage, and OneDrive. This position offers an introduction to gallery operations for those interested in curation and museum studies. |
