Job Description

Purpose or role of the position:

The student worker will support instructional design and course development initiatives within the College of Social Work. Responsibilities include assisting with organizing and updating Canvas course shells, uploading and formatting course materials, reviewing content for accessibility and quality standards, supporting multimedia tasks (e.g., captioning, basic video edits, and image formatting), and providing general administrative and project support as needed. This position is hybrid; there will be some days in the office and some days remote. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, comfortable learning new technologies, and proficient with Microsoft Office and basic LMS tools (Canvas experience preferred).

Job Requirements

Responsibilities will be assigned by the Instructional Design Manager. 

  • Must have a working knowledge of Canvas and Adobe design products. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage tasks independently are also desired.

Schedule:

Flexible schedule. The student can set their schedules around class times with the approval of the Instructional Design Manager. This position is hybrid; there will be some days in the office and some days remote.

Evaluation Procedure

The Instructional Design Manager will evaluate the student assistant’s performance on a regular basis to provide constructive feedback for the student worker. This will enable the student assistant to learn the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace
