Purpose or Role of the Position within the Organization: The 4-H program is a unique, free educational program for youth in grades 4-12 that encourages the development of skills and talents to the fullest. As 4-H members, the youth actively participate in activities, events and projects that develop and strengthen life skills. 4-H is open to everyone and each of the 95 counties in Tennessee has fun and exciting programs. The student curriculum assistant will provide writing and logical support to the 4-H curriculum specialist to assist in publishing 4-H curriculum. Responsibilities associated with the position: Assist the curriculum development specialist in identifying critical updates needed for existing resources and developing new resources. Work with 4-H staff to identify resources that need to be updated. Coordinate with content area specialists to review and validate existing resources. Format, design and create subject matter content for beginner and intermediate 4-H project area guides. Other duties as assigned Schedule: Position available for fall and spring semesters with possible summer extension. The ability to work 10-20 hours a week is required. Hours are flexible and will be worked out according to the student and supervisor's schedule. |
