Duties include: weeding, watering, mulching, transplanting; leaf-blowing, weed-trimming and other duties that may be assigned within the scope of gardens and research greenhouse operations. Students applying for this position will have the extra responsibiliy of being assigned special projects, advanced training in the use of power equipment and the opportunity to manage and direct volunteer groups. Students will consult with Gardens horticulture staff to receive training and direction though students should be self-initiating under minimal supervision. Training and experience with mowers, trimmers, heavy machinery and various hand tools will be provided. Special projects will be assigned based on student interest and garden needs. |
