Job Description

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships is searching for an office assistant who will assist and support staff and student programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate Communication and Hospitality:
  • Engage in professional phone etiquette to promptly address inquiries and provide assistance. 

  • Extend a warm welcome to office visitors, skillfully guiding them to their intended destinations. 

  • Communicate thoroughly to other office members the needs of visitors.

  • Exemplify Administrative Excellence: 
  • Demonstrate meticulous organizational prowess by adeptly managing files and office supplies. 

  • Exhibit data proficiency through accurate data entry and proficient internet research. 

  • Undertake campus errands with efficiency and diligence, contributing to seamless office operations. 

  •  

  • Amplify Outreach Initiatives: 
    • Contribute to dynamic outreach endeavors by distributing flyers, strategically placing posters, and engaging in proactive "pop-up" URF informational sessions. 

    • Participate in tabling events with finesse, effectively conveying information to diverse audiences.

    • Remain up to date on outreach content, URF offerings, and current initiatives

  • Enhance Event Support:  
  • Bolster the office team during high-profile on-campus events such as EUReCA and Discovery Day, ensuring their smooth execution. 

  • Collaborate seamlessly with colleagues to orchestrate event logistics, enhancing the attendee experience. 

  • Cultivate Social Media Presence:
  • As needed, participate in crafting engaging social media content by skillfully drafting posts that resonate with the target audience. 

  • Capture captivating event moments through adept photography, bolstering the office's online presence.

  •  

  • Execute Diverse Tasks with Versatility: 
  • Contribute to the seamless functioning of the office by deftly managing a variety of miscellaneous tasks as assigned. 

  • Display adaptability and a proactive attitude, embracing new challenges to maintain office efficiency. 

 
 

Work hours will be performed in the office and primarily between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, M-F. We are looking for students who can fill at least one 4.5 hour shift, Morning 8:00 am – 12:30 pm or Afternoon 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Please indicate on your application what day and shift(s) would fit in your class schedule for the current or upcoming term 

Job Requirements

Students and direct supervisors will have open and ongoing communication regarding performance and development. Direct supervisor will conduct a formal performance evaluation at least one time per academic year.

Requirements:

  • Must be work-study eligible
  • Must be at least a sophomore 
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency with computer systems and programs
  • Ability to work independently
