The Department of Political Science is looking for a Federal Work-Study student or students who can provide support for faculty in their research and service. The student/students hired for this position would help with work that entails a little more substantive work than just copying and sorting papers. The student or students would also help staff and faculty in the Department of Political Science as necessary in daily operations. Responsibilities associated with the position include but are not limited to: - Assist faculty with research projects such as data collection and coding, literature reviews, and data analysis.
- Proofreading various written projects
- Assist department with social media outreach
- Assist with website review and updates
- Delivery to other campus offices and departments
- Routine copying and scanning of projects
- Cover desks or workstations during personnel breaks and meetings
- Answer phones, and take messages
- Make sure office machines have paper and other supplies as needed
- Distribute mail
- Escorting visitors as needed to other departments or campus locations
- Assist with filing, cleaning out files as needed, and preparing offices for new faculty. Some heavy lifting may be required.
Schedule: 10-20 hours per week during regular office hours Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The student or students hired for this position may be allowed to work remotely when the research duties can be performed from another location. |
