Purpose or Role of the Position Within the Organization: Collaborate with the professional prop shop to produce properties for the Clarence Brown Theatre. The skills learned, and used, will benefit the shop in creating quality products for future productions. Responsibilities Associated with the Position:
• Communication with shop supervisor and assistant • Collaborate with other members of staff • Construction, to include but not limited to, sewing, painting, wood construction, computer work, upholstery, and crafting of realized props. • Transportation of props and furniture from multiple venues - Take lead in more advanced projects (Prop Designing a Show)
- Help train and supervise incoming students under guidence of staff
- Work more independently
Schedule: 15-20 hours for the entire academic year (August through May) during open shop hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday- Friday) with the option to work nights and weekends when needed.
