The Free Store is UTK's sustainable thrifting initiative that gives away gently used items to students, faculty, and staff at no-cost. In order to expand our presence in UT's community, we are looking for a Donations and Events Assistant to handle logistics for workshops and pop-up shops, plan events with Free Store partners, and help with the daily operations of the Free Store. Specific duties include: - Assisting the Social Impact Coordiantor with event planning and execution - helping to coordinate logistics for pop-ups, workshops, our Slow Fashion Show, and any other events the Free Store decides to put on
- Partnering with other on-campus organizations for events and special workshops to improve the Free Store's presence in our campus community
- Coordinating with Media Specialist on event marketing and advertisements
- Helping with daily operations of the Free Store, including managing donations and working the front desk, as needed
- Assisting with food recovery for our partner organizations, especially for home football games (will require some Saturday evening/night work)
Schedule: Flexible, 10-20 hours per week for the entirety of the academic school year including summer sessions, if available. The Donations and Events Assistant will need to find time to meet weekly with the Social Impact Coordinator, but the rest of their schedule can be self-designed. |
