Job Description

Advanced Microscopy and Imaging Center (AMIC) is looking to hire 1 and/or 2 student workers to support the facility in day-to-day operations. Student workers will primarily help in electron microscopy sample preparation and in book keeping. Student workers will have opportunity to get trained on state-of-the-art light and electron microscopy instruments and techniques. Student workers will also help in providing training on different microscopes and microscopy tools in the facility and they will also help in conducting workshops.
Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • {c     Provide microscopy and imaging services
  • {c         Provide analytical information to customers by issuing reports and participation in teams and individual consultation
  • {c         Ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks as necessary
  • 4}         Perform sample preparation for SEM and TEM microscope using established laboratory practices
  • P        Provide optical and electron microscopy imaging on selected samples
  • {c         Provide back-up and training support in the laboratories as needed
  • {c         Participate in equipment calibration, preliminary operations and debugging of equipment
  • {c         Maintain lab environment and records in compliance with Environmental Health & Safety requirements and participate in safety programs
