UT Sustainability provides a well-organized, sustainable collection service to the university and regularly puts on educational programs that are responsive to the needs of the community on and off campus. We work with various departments and organizations to inform individuals about the importance of environmental stewardship, waste reduction, and sustainable practices. The Office of Sustainability is looking for a Campus Engagement Assistant to serve as a representative of our organization and expand our reach through consistent and direct student and campus relations. To meet this goal, the Campus Engagement Assistant will hold weekly tabling sessions across campus to educate on sustainability and advertise our programming. The Campus Engagement Assistant will also assist Office of Sustainability members with executing events throughout the academic year, including, but not limited to, Earth Month, America Recycles Day, and environmental competitions between residence halls. Other duties will involve serving as a representative of the Office of Sustainability at campus and community events that may occur at night or on weekends, including Zero Waste Gamedays throughout the fall football season. Responsibilities: - Host weekly tabling sessions to educate on sustainability, bring awareness to our current programming + upcoming events, and recruit volunteers
- Determine potential campus partners and work with the Outreach and Engagement Coordinator to connect with these partners
- Aid in the planning and execution of the Office of Sustainability's various events
- Identify ways in which the Office of Sustainability can expand their reach in the campus community and work with other student workers and Office staff to bring these ideas to fruition
- Assist with other, specialized projects as assigned
- Work independently and as a team member
