The Tanner lab is looking for new Team Members to join our Treefrog Communication Research Team. Our work investigates how and why animals use acoustic (sound) signals to make mating decisions. We seek students interested in animal behavior and gaining hands-on experience with research. Most of the work will be field based, but some lab work may also be included. The work will mainly consist of data collection: making recordings of male frogs and performing playback experiments. Note that, because the animals are nocturnal, most of our field work is, too! Field work Record frog calls and/or choruses at breeding sites (wetlands) in East Tennessee Capture and take measurements of frogs Perform playback experiments Collect pairs of mating treefrogs
Lab work We are currently looking for spring and summer help, but there is the potential to continue into the fall semester. Please visit the Tanner Lab Website to gain more information about the research we do. |
