The Office of Sustainability’s role is to foster sustainable development and promote social and environmental responsibility, in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals, by providing services that reduce waste, consumption, food insecurity, greenhouse gas emissions, and water and soil pollution. We work with various departments and organizations to inform individuals about the importance of environmental stewardship, waste reduction, and sustainable practices. We are looking for a student website developer to join our team and assist with improving, updating, and managing our website. This position will support the Office of Sustainability’s efforts to provide an engaging and informative online presence. The ideal candidate will help maintain the site’s content, update forms, and assist with functionality updates while collaborating closely with the graphic designer and social media manager. Training on WordPress will be provided, but some experience with website design or development, as well as a basic understanding of graphic design, is preferred.
Responsibilities: Maintain and update content on the Office of Sustainability's site. Collaborate with the graphic designer to ensure that website graphics align with brand guidelines. Assist in updating and managing forms (e.g., event registration, sustainability surveys) and other interactive elements on the website. Troubleshoot issues related to the website’s functionality and performance. Assist with improving user experience (UX) and accessibility across the site. Help ensure the website is up to date with the latest sustainability initiatives, events, and resources. Monitor website performance using analytics tools and suggest improvements based on insights. Work alongside the social media manager to integrate website content with social media posts and campaigns.?
Schedule: Flexible hours, ranging from 5 to 29.5 hours per week during the academic year and summer sessions. |
