The student will help to organize and manage nutrition lab supplies, conduct research, assist with data management and analysis. The student will be trained in all research related activities and mentored through the research process. These research activities may include the following: collecting data on the healthfulness of the campus environment by conducting assessments of the dining, food stores, vending machines, walkability/bikeability, recreation facilities, and other health related environmental components. The assessment process may also include data entry followed by data analysis and report generation. The student may then conduct interviews with students, staff, and administration about their perceptions of the campus environment. The student may also assist with data collection (in surveys, interviews, and/or focus groups) in community locations. Other research experiences may also become available. |
