The Department of Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport Studies is looking for individuals who are dependable, punctual, and have a positive attitude with the ability to pay close attention to detail. They would preferably have excellent interpersonal/customer service skills and have the ability to work independently and accept individual responsibility for projects or assignments. Work-Study students will be asked to assist with various general office management duties (answering phones, copies, greeting visitors, scanning files, sorting mail, etc) as well as assisting with multiple department events, data entry, and other tasks as assigned by their supervisors. . They include: - Answering Phones
- Make copies and/or scans
- Deliver mail
- Data Entry/File Management
- Assist with events (set-up, take-down)
- Clean rooms, classrooms, whiteboards, etc.
- Post signs
- Organize supply closets
- Redo/organize bulletin boards
- Clean KRSS main office and copy room
Scheduling: • Work-Study students will be scheduled at the beginning of each semester around their classes and other commitments. • Typically, shifts will need to be at least 2 hours long, and no more than three students will be scheduled for the same time. • Friday afternoons are not busy in the department, therefore a light coverage schedule will be adopted. • The schedule will then be posted in the main KRSS office, along with each student’s photo and biography. • Students will be asked to follow the posted schedule unless they communicate a change to their supervisor • Temporary changes can be made for reasons of study time, illness, family issues, or other personal issues. These should be communicated via in-person, text, or e-mail conversation with supervisor. • Permanent changes to the schedule should be discussed with the supervisor. |
