Job Description

The Student Worker Front Desk Assistant provides essential front-line support at multiple student-facing offices, including the Vol Study Center (VSC), Academic Success Center (ASC), and DSS Administration Office in Andy Holt Tower. This role involves greeting and assisting visitors, supporting academic success services, managing supplies and workspace cleanliness, scheduling appointments, answering phones (where applicable), and performing various administrative duties to ensure smooth daily operations.

Job Requirements

Student & Visitor Support

 

·       Greet and assist all visitors in a friendly and professional manner

·       Provide students with information and resources related to Division of Student Success

·       Assist students in using Vol Connect and other applications

·       Assist with events and outreach as a representative of VSC/DSS/ASC

·       Answer and direct incoming calls

 

Office Support & Maintenance

 

·       Open and close office locations as needed based on shift times

·       Maintain cleanliness and order in shared work areas, including straightening furniture and cleaning surfaces

·       Monitor and restock supplies such as snacks, paper, and printed materials

·       Monitor student kiosk, printers, and refill paper as needed

·       Post flyers and other promotional materials on campus

·       Performs administrative & operational tasks

·       Enter data and complete administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner

·       Update your timesheet daily in DASH (or JobX if FWS) and sign the daily log sheet

·       Track PLA/SI attendance and manage sign-in/photo card posting

·       Perform other office duties as assigned by supervisors (including VSC Coordinators, Graduate Assistants, or the Associate/Assistant Directors)

Evaluation Procedure

Supervisors will conduct periodic informal check-ins and coaching sessions throughout the work period, with a formal one-on-one evaluation at the end of the term.

Students will be evaluated on their punctuality, dependability, and ability to perform assigned tasks effectively.
