Return to the Kao ICS Technician Team – Where Innovation Meets Hands-On Fun! Are you a student who loves to tinker, create, and bring big ideas to life? As a Technician at Kao ICS, you won't just be assisting, you’ll be inventing, experimenting, and getting your hands on some of the coolest tech on campus. Here’s what you’ll get to practice with and master: · 3D Scanning, CAD Modeling & 3D Printing – Learn how to design, scan, and print 3D models from start to finish. · Resin & Powder Printing (Wet Lab) – Work with advanced materials in a lab setting to create high-detail prints. · Laser & Waterjet Cutting – Use high-precision tools to rastor, engrave, and cut a variety of materials. · Embroidery & Textile Tools – Explore creative applications of embroidery and fabric-based tech, including: leather, sewing, and embroidering · Welding & Electronics Lab (E-lab) – Gain hands-on experience with welding and basic electronics assembly. Training will cover a wide range of tools and technologies, including: · 3D Printing: Prusa MK3, MK4, XL · Laser Cutting: Trotec and Laguna (basic training) · Shop Tools: Bandsaw, Bridgeport, drill press, belt sander, and hand power tools · Advanced Fabrication: Waterjet, welding, and sandblaster · Digital Labs: 3D scanning, electronics lab, visualization lab · Textile Equipment: Sewing and embroidery machines · Advanced Additive Manufacturing: Industrial 3D printers, resin printers, and SLS systems In addition to technical training, all new technicians are expected to actively participate in ICS outreach events and support engagement efforts across campus. |
