Job Description

Provides administrative support to the College of Emerging and Collaborative Studies (CECS), including for Student Success events and tabling, ensuring smooth setup, execution, and follow-up and CECS daily operations.

Job Requirements

Duties and responsibilites associated with the position and how they relate to the purpose/role:

  • Staff the CECS front desk, greeting visitors, answering basic inquirues, and answering the phone.
  • Assist with event setup and cleanup, including room preparation and materials.
  • Track attendance at events, workshops, and programs.
  • Post and refresh flyers and annoucements across campus.
  • Update event details and annoucements on CECSverse and other platforms.
  • Provide light administrative support as needed. 
  • Maintain room 104/student lounge area.

General and specific qualifications associate with the position:

General:

  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Comfortable with basic computer tools and willing to learn.
  • Able to work flexible hours for special events.

Specific:

  • Students should maintain a semester 3.0 GPA. Students who are below this point may be asked to demonstrate the ability to be successful in their studies while working (e.g., grade checks) and to commit to achieving a 3.0 in the subsequent semester.
  • Students must be available for a regular, consistent, weekly schedule and be able to commit to blocks of time that fit the needs of CECS and their supervisor.
  • Students must be enrolled in the University during the semester in which they are employed, with the exception of students who are invited to be employed after graduation.
  • Students must commit to following all University, local, state, and federal policies and laws, as well as to a standard of ethical and professional behavior as representatives of CECS.
  • Preference will be given to students who are CECS-affiliated (e.g., enrolled in a certificate, minor, or major) and regular participants in CECS activities.
Evaluation Procedure
  • Student employees will have an end-of-semester meeting with their supervisor to review performance and achievements.
  • For individuals who work through an academic year, they will have an opportunity for an annual evaluation.
