Position Summary: The Community School Assistant will provide broad support for community school initiatives through a variety of administrative, student engagement, and program support activities. This position offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with students, families, school staff, and community partners while contributing to programs that promote student success and family engagement. Although this work supports community school initiatives, the position is administered through the Boyd Center for Community Schools at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and is considered an on-campus Federal Work Study position. Some responsibilities may require travel to partner school sites; therefore, reliable transportation is highly recommended. Primary Responsibilities: Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Assist with collecting, organizing, and analyzing program data Perform data entry and supporting documentation Provide support to Community School programs and initiatives Assist with planning, preparing for, and supporting school and community events Engage professionally with K-12 students, families, school personnel, and community partners Help prepare materials, resources, and communications for programs and events Support outreach and family engagement efforts Assist with program logistics, scheduling, and general organization tasks Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling research data Complete other duties as assigned in support of Community School initiatives
? Additional Information This position is intentionally broad to provide meaningful learning opportunities while meeting the ever evolving needs of the Boyd Center for Community Schools. Responsibilities may vary throughout the academic year based on program priorities. While the position is administered as an on-campus Federal Work Study, some duties may involve travel to local partner schools and community sites. Access to reliable transportation is highly recommended. |
