Job Description
The Academic Support Intern is an integral member of the FUTURE Academic Support Team and works closely with the Academic Support Coordinator and Specialist to ensure that all FUTURE students receive the necessary accommodations and modifications that they need to be successful scholars. Duties include:
 
-assisting with Friday study halls
-keeping up with FUTURE student audit course syllabi
-maintaining and monitoring FUTURE students' assignment & exam calendars
-assisting with course registrations for all FUTURE students
-assisting with administration of any final projects or exams at end of semester
-FUTURE student peer mentoring
-additional duties/tasks as assigned
Job Requirements

The following list of expectations is designed to give the Intern specific information relative to the day-to-day duties that are performed in their position.

  • Be on time for your shift. This means arriving at the desk before your shift officially starts to allow yourself enough time to be briefed by your supervisor.
  • Notify the Academic Support Coordinator if you cannot make a shift or will be late to the shift.
  • Be professional when on duty. This includes your attitude, work, and appearance.
  • Matters concerning FUTURE students are confidential and are not to be shared by anyone.
  • Employ customer service at all times. This includes tone of voice, attitude, and willingness to help solve problems for all students, staff members, and guests who call or visit the front desk The employee should have good knowledge of campus resources, phone numbers, directions, and departmental staff contacts.
  • Serve as a representative of the FUTURE Program at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Evaluation Procedure

The supervisor will provide verbal feedback on a weekly basis during a staff meeting. Supervisor will also provide written or verbal feedback as needed or requested. The Intern will be evaluated on professional behaviors, adherance to job description, among other things as needed or requested.
