The Department of Political Science is looking for Federal Work-Study Students who are dependable and can follow instructions to provide assistance and support the department in daily operations. The department is looking for students who are self-motivated and will not require constant reminders of daily tasks. Responsibilities associated with the position include but are not limited to: - Answering phones, taking and delivering messages
- Delivery to other campus offices and departments
- Routine copying and scanning projects
- Cover desks or workstations during personnel breaks, meetings, and during busy times
- Make sure office machines have paper and other supplies as needed
- Distribute mail and put supplies away
- Escort visitors as needed to other departments or campus locations
- Check inventory of supplies and SWAG, as well as helping maintain the easy access of these items
- Help to maintain a clean environment during cold and flu season
- Assist with filing, cleaning out files as needed, and preparing offices for new faculty. Some heavy lifting may be required.
- Maintain office bulletin boards, directories, and decorations. Students may be asked to help decorate for various functions including homecoming, recruitment events, and holidays throughout the year.
Schedule: Regular office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Federal Work Study Students are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week. Work schedules are determined based on each student’s academic class schedule |
