Evaluation ProcedureThe student's performance is evaluated on an ongoing basis by the Director of Percussion Studies, in coordination with the graduate assistant who oversees day-to-day work. Regular feedback is provided through weekly check-ins, project reviews, and completed assignments, so the student always knows how they're doing and where to grow. In addition to this ongoing feedback, a formal performance review is conducted at mid-semester and at the end of each semester. Evaluations consider: - Reliability and consistent attendance during scheduled hours
- Quality and timeliness of completed work
- Communication, responsiveness, and follow-through on assigned tasks
- Professionalism and representation of the percussion area
At each formal review, the supervisor discusses strengths and goals with the student directly, and the student has the opportunity to raise questions, set priorities for the coming term, and identify skills they'd like to develop through the role. |
