Student Health Services Student Assistants will serve either in supervisory or clinical roles. All Student Health Services Student Assistants will be responsible for: - Maintaining of patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Maintains safe secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures which comply with OSHA regulations and proper infection control procedures.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading publications.
Clinical job duties may include: - Obtain and verify the recording of the medical history and confirmation of purpose of visit
- Provides transport for patients to and from the exam room to the lab/radiology department. by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, temperature.
- Assists providers with exams.
- Performs minor office procedures (scheduling appointments, faxing of records, etc) as needed.
- Assists witih patient care management by providing transport to and from the radiology/lab department and entering and exiting the building.
- Explain home exercise program assigned to patient and assist with the fitting of orthopedic appliances and other durable medical equipment.
- Assist in crutch training with patients.
- Secures requested supplies to assist the medical team.
- Provides followup to assist the needs of the patient are being addressed pre and post exam.
