The Clarence Brown Theatre, a professional and educational producing theatre affiliated with the University of Tennessee, is seeking a motivated student to serve as an Audio and Projections Assistant. This Federal Work-Study position offers hands-on experience in a dynamic theatre environment, supporting audio and projection needs for professional productions, and events. As part of a collaborative team, you'll assist in creating immersive audiovisual experiences while gaining valuable skills in theatre technology. This role is ideal for students interested in technical theatre, sound design, or multimedia production, with opportunities for mentorship from industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup, operation, and teardown of audio equipment, including microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, and sound reinforcement systems for rehearsals, performances, and events.
• Assist with projection mapping, video playback, and digital content integration using software such as QLab, Watchout, or similar tools; help troubleshoot technical issues during shows.
• Maintain and organize audio and projection inventory, including cables, projectors, screens, and related accessories; perform basic repairs and cleaning as needed.
• Participate in load-ins, strikes, and technical rehearsals, adhering to safety protocols and theatre standards.
• Provide occasional support for educational initiatives, such as assisting with student-led projects or workshops on audiovisual technology.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Sound and Video manager.
• As a Tier 2 employee, you will also serve as a mentor for members who are new to this position due to your experience.

At the end of each semester, our Sound and video manager will meet with you about your journey and contributions.
