Job Description

The Administrative & Research Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and research support to faculty, researchers, and departmental leadership. This position serves as a key resource for coordinating day-to-day operations while supporting research activities, projects, and initiatives.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are essential, as the position works closely with faculty, staff, students, research participants, and external partners.

This role requires a proactive and collaborative individual who can anticipate needs, work independently, and contribute to the efficient and successful operation of both administrative and research activities.

Job Requirements

Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple responsibilities and priorities simultaneously.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Demonstrated discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Strong proofreading and editing skills, with the ability to identify and correct errors in documents.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Dependable and punctual, with consistent attendance and timely completion of assigned responsibilities. Reliability and punctuality will be considered as part of ongoing performance evaluations.

Evaluation Procedure

Performance will be evaluated regularly based on the responsibilities and expectations of the position. Evaluations will consider the employee’s ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, maintain accuracy and attention to detail, communicate effectively, and follow established procedures.

Reliability, punctuality, professionalism, confidentiality, and the quality and timeliness of completed work will be important components of the evaluation process. Feedback will be provided throughout the evaluation period, with opportunities to discuss performance, identify areas for improvement, and establish goals for continued professional development.

Failure to consistently meet the expectations of the position may result in additional performance discussions, a formal improvement plan, or other appropriate action in accordance with applicable University policies and procedures.
